is a still-life photographer living and working out of Los Angeles, CA. Rebecca is drawn to peculiarity and enjoys experimenting with light to explore tiny details of texture and color. She likes when things get weird and is particularly fond of outtakes and throwaway shots. She loves making a mess.
Rebecca Stephens
Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rebecca gravitated towards the arts as a kid, practicing music and dance and signing up for extra art classes when she could. The singing and dancing didn’t stick, but she discovered her love for photography in a college darkroom class taking pictures of birds and she never looked back.
In 2011, Rebecca earned her BFA in photography at Kendall College of Art and Design, after which she followed the sun all the way west and landed in LA. She spent time working as an in-house photographer for Nordstrom where she mastered her skills in studio lighting before going freelance.
If she’s not in her studio, you can usually find her in the desert or exploring some faraway land with her partner and son.
